Faculty Art Show

These are the photos I submitted for a faculty art show. I know; I know; these are personal in nature, but after all, most of my creative energy goes to my family.

In real life, the triptych is actually the biggest, 20 by 30, while the portraits are little 5 by 7's on canvas. I loved the little pictures on canvas so much that I had my students do them as a Mother's Day present/assignment last year. They look really cool with a little photoshop to make them look more "painterly."

The triptych was a project I started in the spring of 06. I wanted to print it as large as possible, but I couldn't figure out where to do it for a reasonable amount of money...or proof it at full size even. It wasn't until I found out that Costco makes poster prints for 9.99 that printing became a reality.

Here are a few portraits I took of the kids this weekend. Their personalities really came out; neither one of them would pose for me, but I think I captured the real essence how they interact!

Ally's Wedding

In the Fall of 2005 Ally and Mingo tied the knot at the Oregon coast. Their wedding was a ton of fun--a combination of sports action photography, as they played softball and kickball; photojournalism, during the wedding; and of course we included the more typical posed wedding party shots. Welcome

This is where hillcphotography begins. That's the unofficial, official name of my photography business, the one that I'm starting in all the spare time I have after teaching in the morning and taking care of the kids in the afternoon. I'll be posting some examples of work I have been doing and advertising for upcoming events. I don't know where this venture will lead, but this is where it all begins, today. So, welcome.
