Tee Ball

Here are some photos from my son's first tee ball game. There are lots of really cute photos. I think I got everyone batting and fielding. I can't guarantee I captured everyone in a great pose though. Sometimes there is the tell tale ball, landing just inches from the tee or rolling under someone's legs.

Cruising and Playing

Just a few photos from a family shoot this week.

Over the summer I took photos at a post-wedding, wedding party. They had toasts, dances, etc, recreating the wedding a few months later for everyone back home. It was a fun party and I really enjoyed the experience of taking photos. The various posed family shots were especially fun.

Barta Continued

The first two are part of the Barta spread. The second two are just a few of my favorites that they didn't use. I used the baiting the hook photo as part of our Christmas card. Poor J, he really was as seasick as he looks.

I should credit Scott Taylor, Beaufort photographer, for getting the Barta gig for me. It was his assignment to shoot, but he generously gave it to me. (That may have been a smart move. Besides some seasickness, it wasn't an overly exciting few days. We only caught a few small King Mackarel over the course of the whole tourney.)

On the other hand, I had a great time taking pictures, learned a lot (like how incredibly long it takes a lens to clear of fog in extreme humidity), what shutter speed is necessary for a rocking boat, and I got my pics in a mag. How cool is that.

Barta Tournament

The photos shown here were used in an article by NC Boating Lifestyles magazine as part of a story about the Barta tournament. The story focused on Gerry. Besides being an old pro in the tournament, he created (and drives) the famous boom truck of Beaufort, and he also had grandchildren traveling across the country to participate with him. They ran six pictures. I'll include two more on another post, as well as a few of my favorites that didn't make the cut.
